Worldviews in Conflict

Because God is our Creator, because Christ is our Savior, and because as Christians we are new creations by the Holy Spirit, our worldview is dominated by God. There is no reason to budge even an inch from this.Worldviews in Conflict

Introduction To Worldviews

“I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14)

In articles so far we’ve seen that there is no neutral ground between the Christian and the non-Christian. This means that we will defend Christianity as a whole and complete system, and we will set it against any other (2 Corinthians 10:5).

But what exactly is a worldview?

A worldview is a network of presuppositions or foundational commitments that a person has. These commitments are not tested by natural science. They guide one’s thinking and hold the highest authority in one’s life. If one’s core presuppositions were to change, then one’s whole view of life would change with it.Christian Apologetics – 3

The devil in the cloak of the serpent posed the question that ensnared Adam and Eve. God said, “…but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat…” (Genesis 2:17). Satan asked, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?’” (Genesis 3:1)

The Myth of Neutrality

I was in a discussion with an atheist and we both realized that the conversation seemed to be going nowhere. I had my beliefs and he had his.

Worth More Than Many Sparrows

When God created the Earth and the world and all that is in it, man was the crowning jewel of creation. Man was created and placed on the Earth as the unique expression of divine creation. Adam was created a special creature—formed from the dust of earth. Into his nostrils was breathed the breath of life “and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). It was “not good that man should be alone” (2:18), but there was none among all the animals God created that was a suitable mate for Adam. What it is and is not

The word apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia which means defense. Just as the Lutheran Reformers wrote the Apology to the Augsburg Confession to defend what they wrote in the Augsburg Confession, so the Christian’s calling includes defending his belief in God and His Word.  Even more so, the Lord wants His people to always be ready to do this important work.Christian Apologetics
