Great Joy

“And there was great joy in that city” Acts 8:8

“He went on his way rejoicing”  Acts 8:39

What is it that makes Christians joyful?
Next to the joy of forgiveness of sins and eternal salvation in Jesus Christ, surely one of our greatest joys is to hear about or witness for ourselves the great joy that comes to others when they hear the good news of Jesus Christ: His life, death, and resurrection for the salvation of mankind.Read More »Great Joy

Testimony of Our Forefathers

“Treasuring Our Heritage of Truth” -First of Three…

“Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.” Hebrews 13:7

In our service today we are trying to do what God is telling us to do in this text. We are trying to remember those individuals who have spoken the Word of God to us. Since we are celebrating both the Lutheran Reformation and the anniversary of the Church of the Lutheran Confession, we are trying to remember particularly those from the sixteenth century who spoke the Word of God to us, and those in the middle of the 20th century who spoke the Word of God to us in connection with the founding of our church body.Read More »Testimony of Our Forefathers

Chapel Talk on Chapter 20 of the Book: Out Of Necessity

Dear Friends in Christ,

Chapter 20 of the history of the CLC is entitled “The Changing Times.”

By God’s grace our doctrinal platform remains the same now as it was then. That is good, because it is written: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” How happy we can be that God does not change! Nor does His love for us sinners change! Jesus died for the sins of the world, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. Those facts do not change, and they assure us that our sins are forgiven, and we have a place in heaven reserved for us.Read More »Chapel Talk on Chapter 20 of the Book: Out Of Necessity

Chapel Talk on Chapter 19 of the Book: Out Of Necessity

Dear Friends in Christ,

There are sixteen congregations in our church body that are presently enjoying a special blessing from the Lord. These congregations are operating elementary Christian day schools. Some of these schools have been in existence since the very beginning of the CLC, such as Immanuel Lutheran School in Mankato, Minnesota. In fact, Immanuel congregation has also been operating its own Christian high school ever since Immanuel Lutheran College moved from Mankato to Eau Claire in 1963.Read More »Chapel Talk on Chapter 19 of the Book: Out Of Necessity
